ABOUT

‘His poignant lyrics touch nerve ends and make the hairs on your arms stand up. They send a shiver down your spine to meet a groove that touches your feet and urges you to dance. To throw your hands up and give in to what’s inside.’

- Clash Magazine

le-naSty - the brainchild of Welsh multi-instrumentalist and producer Stanley Penrose - is somewhat of an alien in the music world. His distinctive brand of Bedroom Pop fuses live instrumentation and soulful vocals with dance-inflected beats and self-reflective lyrics - creating music which is at once introspective and extroverted.

A remarkably genuine artist with an infectious energy, le-naSty’s honest stage presence makes any show feel like a family affair. His modern love ballads draw on the weird and wonderful tendencies of 21st century relations: ‘the words are intimate, written like poems, but they cut like knives when you really listen’ (Clash Magazine).

A relatively new face on the Brighton scene, le-naSty made waves in his former stomping ground of Manchester - packing out such venues as Gullivers, Factory and YES; supporting the likes of Barney Artist and Winston Surfshirt; headlining Band On The Wall; garnering the support of Sofar Sounds, Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing; and featuring as Clash Magazine’s ‘Next Wave’ artist. His self-promoted album launch sold out, as did the first naSty but nice event - a night of live music co-curated with resident artist PEEK and key collaborator Jigs.

le-naSty released nostalgia-tinted single 'Feelin' Like Frank' in February, the first single from upcoming third album 'Full Circle', where le-naSty turns his focus back to the bare bones of his songwriting and picks the acoustic guitar as his primary method of delivery.
